LONDON- Police on Tuesday arrested one more suspect over the alleged London airliner bomb plot, the first arrest since the plot was foiled last week.
London’s Metropolitan police said the 24th person in custody was detained around noon in the Thames Valley area west of London but gave no other details.
Scotland Yard’s investigation into the plot has been ongoing since Aug. 10, with 46 searches of homes and businesses conducted.
Scotland Yard has not said whether investigators will seek another extension on Wednesday.
Britain recently passed controversial legislation giving the government up to 28 days to hold terror suspects without charge, and the jetliner plot is the first major test of how those new powers will be utilized.
