A Guthrie police officer had to be taken to a local hospital Thursday night after he lost control of his vehicle on Hadensville Road.
The wreck occurred at 8 p.m. Tracy White, a deputy with the Todd County Sheriff’s Department, said Officer David Tomlinson was trying to stop another driver in his patrol car along Hadensville Road. When he came around a curve, White said he lost control of the car and careened off the road.
White said the car flipped at least once before coming to rest in a resident’s front yard. When emergency personnel arrived, Tomlinson was lying on the ground next to his car. White said he complained of head pain and was taken to Jennie Stuart Medical Center for treatment.
White said Tomlinson was conscious and breathing at the scene and that his injures aren’t life-threatening. The wreck left significant damage to the officer’s cruiser, caving in the area around the front hood.
Todd County EMS and Todd County Rescue Squad responded to the scene.
