Houston: An officer-involved shooting overnight left a teenager in the hospital. Police say she was armed with a knife and emotional enough to shake off being hit with a Taser.

California: A police officer fired his Taser gun at a 37-year-old man with a history of mental illness Sunday afternoon after the man wielded a knife and argued with police, a Watsonville police captain said today.

Georgia: Police agencies in Georgia that use Taser stun guns would have to make sure their officers know how to use them properly under a bill passed overwhelmingly by the House on Wednesday.
