Why we need an innovation revolution in policing
Keeping pace with the expectations of an increasingly networked and digitized society will require police to become highly innovative
Can our traditional hierarchical model of policing enable us to meet the level of complexity of future threats?
This is the question posed by Simon O’Rourke, a police officer with over 20 years of operational experience and a keen interest in technology. He is the recipient of the 2017 Fulbright Western Australia Postdoctoral Scholarship, which saw him appointed as a fellow at the Program on Crisis Leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School for the 2017-18 Academic Year.
In this TEDx presentation, O'Rourke discusses why we need an innovation revolution in policing that will enable us to keep pace with our increasingly digitized and networked society.
