SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — Axon has announced the latest product in its TASER Self-Defense division – a personal TASER device that alerts dispatch when it’s discharged.

According to an Axon press release, the TASER Bolt 2 features a 15-foot range, enhanced accuracy in low-light conditions, and a companion app that alerts emergency dispatch and sends a GPS location to police when the device is discharged.

“We are excited to announce the launch of this next generation personal safety device that will allow customers to protect themselves with confidence,” says Matt Angorn, vice president of Axon Consumer Products, in a statement. “The enhancements and safety features of the TASER Bolt 2 non-lethal energy weapon will provide civilians with peace of mind and the ability to safely protect themselves, their loved ones and their communities.”

The TASER Bolt 2 is being marketed as a personal safety tool that can impair attackers for up to 30 seconds, according to Axon. The device costs $449 and is available for pre-order.

The TASER Bolt 2 and other Axon products will be showcased at SHOT Show in Las Vegas at booth #43250. Learn more about the TASER Bolt 2 here.
