Watch the watch

During a recent training class I was repeatedly reminded of an important tactical consideration. Interestingly enough, the source of the reminder wasn't the instructor. It was an officer in the class who wore a watch that beeped once--loudly--at the top of each hour. Had that officer been in a situation that required him to remain stealth, his presence and position would have been immediately identified if the contact coincided with one of those beeps. Consider the tactical ramifications of wearing a watch that beeps. If you find yourself in a scenario that requires you to come in low under the radar, something as simple as that watch could compromise your safety.
