Gary Cordner is academic director in the Police Academy/Education and Training Section of the Baltimore Police Department. Most recently he served as chief research advisor for the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) LEADS Scholars Program. He was a CALEA (Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies) Commissioner for nine years and has been associated with the Center for Problem-Oriented Policing since its inception. He is Professor Emeritus at Eastern Kentucky University, where he served as Dean of the College of Justice & Safety. Earlier in his career, he was a police officer and police chief in Maryland and obtained his Ph.D. from Michigan State University.

Cordner was founding editor of Police Quarterly and is a past editor of the American Journal of Police; author of Police Administration (10th edition); and co-author of Police & Society (8th edition). He authored several monographs for the COPS Office and NIJ, was co-PI of the National Police Research Platform and is a past president of the Academy of Criminal Justice Sciences (ACJS).

Elliott Averett is a former Seattle Police officer. He is currently a J.D. candidate at the Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C.

Nicholas Greco IV, MS, BCETS, CATSM, FAAETS, is president and founder of C3 Education and Research, Inc. Nick has over 25 years of experience training civilians and law enforcement. He has directed, managed and presented on over 550 training programs globally across various topics including depression, bipolar disorder, schizophrenia, verbal de-escalation techniques, post-traumatic stress disorder, burnout and vicarious traumatization. Nick has authored over 325 book reviews and has authored or co-authored over 35 articles in psychiatry and psychology.

He is a subject matter expert for Police1/Lexipol and Calibre Press, as well as a CIT instructor for the Chicago Police Department, CIT Coordinator and Lead CIT Trainer for the Lake County Sheriff’s CIT Program as well as other agencies. Nick is a member of the International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association (ILEETA), IACP, IPSA, LETOA and CIT International, Committee Chair for the IPSA Mental Health Committee, and a member of the Wellness support team for Survivors of Blue Suicide (SBS).

Pete Goode is a former Royal Marines Commando sniper and helicopter sniper team leader. After becoming an American citizen, he entered into law enforcement and became a firearms instructor, CQB instructor, Civilian Response to Active Shooter Events (CRASE) instructor, SWAT sniper and SWAT Sniper Team Leader. His law enforcement experience includes working patrol, Crimes Against Persons and Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC). With over 15 years of instructor experience, Pete is passionate about continuing to learn and develop skills and tactics and passing them on to his fellow operators and officers.

Denise Rodriguez is a leading expert on collaborative reform, police accountability and community-based policing. She has over a decade of experience working with police agencies and their communities on issues related to police reform, accountability, training, use of force, body-worn cameras, crime prevention, critical incident reviews and community engagement. Ms. Rodriguez currently serves as the Chief Deputy Police Monitor on the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the United States Department of Justice Consent Decree.

Kyle McCoy is a paramedic field training officer for MU Healthcare in Columbia, Missouri. Kyle has 15 years of experience in EMS in both rural and urban areas. Kyle received his fire and EMS training from Central Carolina Community College in North Carolina before earning his paramedic certification and moving to Missouri. Kyle works in a city that sees a lot of violent crimes and works routinely with police at these scenes.

Miriam Childs is an experienced digital marketer who has served as Lexipol’s marketing coordinator since 2020. She has a bachelor’s degree in Marketing from the University of Texas at Arlington.

Bob Harrison is a retired police chief who is an adjunct researcher with the non-profit, non-partisan RAND Corporation. He is also a course manager for the CA POST Command College. Bob consults with police agencies in California and beyond on strategy, leadership and innovation. He holds a Postgraduate Degree in Business Strategy & Innovation from the University of Oxford, and master’s degrees from two U.S. universities.

Chief Neil H. Gang has served in law enforcement for over 34 years and has been the Chief of Police for the Pinole Police Department since 2014. He is the Chairperson of the California Police Chiefs Association Officer Wellness and Resiliency Committee, the author of the Asher Model-7 Point Approach to a Culture of Wellness, the host of the 6th Pillar Podcast, is a CALPOST-Wellness Instructor, and was named Public Safety Hero of the Year by the House of Representatives in 2020. The IACP has featured his innovative work as a law enforcement leader in Police Chief magazine and several other law enforcement platforms. He is a graduate of the prestigious Northwestern School of Police Staff Command, where he was both the president of the class and the recipient of the Franklin M. Kremel Award for excellence in the field of leadership and is currently finishing his Master’s degree at the University of San Diego, LEPSL program.

Captain Rod Davis Sr., retired from the Stafford County (Virginia) Sheriff’s Office after serving over 40 years in law enforcement. He has over 30 years of experience as a law enforcement/corrections defensive tactics instructor in Virginia and previously served on two curriculum review committees for the Virginia Department of Criminal Justice Services, developing training requirements for use of force and control tactics for Virginia’s law enforcement and jail officers. He is a co-founder of Special Combat, Defensive Tactics USA, located in Mechanicsville, Virginia.
