FRASER, Mich. — Intense video captured by a dash cam from a Fraser Police Department cruiser caught the moment an officer rescued a woman from a burning pickup truck.
The vehicle caught fire on Dec. 16, FOX2 reports. Dash cam video shows Officer Cameron Rieper running from his cruiser to the truck, which was stuck in the median of the road.
Rieper, who used to be a firefighter, said his instincts kicked in as soon as he arrived at the scene and the woman’s safety became his top priority.
“She was an elderly female. It’s not really unknown if she had a medical issue or what exactly happened before the original crash,” he told FOX2.
The woman was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
