Five members of the Massachusetts State Police High Tech Unit were honored with one of the state’s highest awards yesterday for their work in dozens of criminal cases including those of wife-killer Dr. Dirk Greineder, mass murderer Michael “Mucko” McDermott and child molester Christopher J. Reardon.
Lt. Dermot Quinn and Troopers Steven P. Fennessy, Matthew Murphy, David Crouse and David McSweeney received the Manuel Carballo Governor’s Award for Excellence in Public Service. The award is the highest for employees in the state’s Executive Department.
“I am honored to serve alongside these Massachusetts state troopers,” said Attorney General Tom Reilly. “Their main focus is protecting our children from Internet predators and assuring that criminals who use computers to hide evidence of their crimes do not succeed.”
The investigators are current or former members of Reilly’s Computer Crime Division.
