Beware hidden pockets in hats

When conducting pat-downs and personal searches, be aware that normal-looking headwear can contain hidden pockets with potentially dangerous contents.

A variety of caps and hats are marketed online with concealed compartments, usually inside the crown.

These can be used by law-abiding citizens to hide cash, credit cards, and other valuables while out in public.

For suspects, though, they can be depositories for contraband or weapons.
