(CARLSBAD, N.M.) - A former sheriff’s deputy in New Mexico has been charged with the attempted murder of his wife.
Harold Lewis, 55, of Vista allegedly confronted his wife and another man in an underground parking garage Saturday night in Carlsbad and shot Patricia Lewis, 54, in the face. Officers who went to Lewis’s apartment a short time later found him unconscious from an overdose of pills.
Lewis was jailed after treatment at a hospital.
