Fugitive ex-cop stayed in San Diego hotel; military bases on alert

A statewide manhunt is under way for Christopher Dorner, who’s suspected of killing two people

SAN DIEGO — The Navy says a former Los Angeles policeman sought for at least three killings stayed on a San Diego base several days ago and the facility is locked down until he’s caught.

Cmdr. Brad Fagan says Christopher Dorner checked into a hotel at Naval Base Point Loma Tuesday and left the next day.

The base was sealed Thursday morning after a Navy worker reported seeing someone who resembled Dorner.

Fagan says Dorner recently left the Navy and may have military ID but he’s not believed to be on base now.

A statewide manhunt is under way for Dorner, who’s suspected of killing two people in Irvine and shooting to death a Riverside police officer.
