(NORTH BRADDOCK, Pa.) -- Two junior firefighters have been charged with setting a fatal blaze because they wanted to help rescue the victim.
Chad Pruchnitzky and James Moore, both 15, are expected to be tried as adults on charges that include homicide and arson. They allegedly set three fires before the one that killed Anna Lazabeck on Feb. 16.
The 85-year-old Lazabeck lived next door to Moore in North Braddock. Investigators say that the teenagers set the fire at her house and then went to Moore’s to wait for the alarm. Lazabeck died when a floor collapsed.
