Two Men Struggle Over Robber’s Gun, Bite Each Other

HOUSTON -- A robber in southwest Houston threatened the wrong person Tuesday night.
Houston police said the robber approached a man, sitting in his car, in the 8100 block of Richmond around 10 p.m. The robber allegedly pointed his gun at the man and demanded money from him.
But, the robber was in for a surprise. The victim on whom he had chosen to prey ended up being a Houston Police Department officer.
The off-duty officer reached over and grabbed the robber’s gun and the two began to struggle over the weapon.
Officials investigating the incident said the robber bit the officer and the officer bit back.
The robber was able to flee the scene before officials arrived.
The officer was treated for the biting and was released.
