UNIONTOWN, Pa. (AP) -- A man was arrested Monday after leading police on a chase in which authorities say he stole five different cars, including a Hummer and two trucks.
Jason S. Stewart, 37, of Connellsville, was arrested without incident Monday at an apartment. He was to be arraigned on charges including burglary, motor vehicle theft, and fleeing and eluding authorities.
A trooper saw Stewart in a stolen Hummer on Sunday in Fayette County, police said. Stewart fled in the sport utility vehicle before abandoning it and fleeing on foot, police said.
Later that afternoon, authorities allege Stewart stole a Dodge Intrepid. He was pursued by police, but rammed a cruiser into a guard rail before wrecking the Dodge, authorities said.
Stewart was able to kick out the window of the car and flee on foot, police said.
About 10 minutes later, authorities said Stewart stole a pickup truck in Dunbar Township. He abandoned that truck at a garage, where he stole a 1993 Ford F-150 truck and equipment from the garage, police said.
Authorities believe that he later abandoned the truck and stole a Pontiac Grand Am in Scottdale.
