A man suspected in a series of sexual assaults in West Seattle and California briefly escaped police custody in downtown Seattle yesterday and could be seen running naked from detectives.
He was quickly caught and taken to the King County Jail.
Michael Gebre, 19, of Santa Rosa, Calif., arrested early yesterday for investigation of rape, was being transported from police headquarters in downtown Seattle to the jail across the street when he escaped, said Sean Whitcomb, police spokesman.
