BLOTTER, Texas — What happens when you’re accused of pretending to be a cop? Real cops arrest you.

That was the case early Monday when an 18-year-old man was arrested after police said he used a siren and speaker system on his truck to pull over passing vehicles.

Officers were called about 2 a.m. to the 1500 block of Santa Gertrudis Drive after motorists reported a driver of a truck ordering vehicles to pull over.

Police located a Chevrolet Silverado truck in the area matching a description given to officers and the driver was identified by witnesses.

Shane Crawford was arrested on suspicion of impersonating a public servant, a third-degree felony, and reckless driving, a misdemeanor.

By Monday afternoon he had bailed out of the Nueces County Jail on $5,500 bail.
