NEW YORK — Floyd Mayweather took time off from his promotional tour to pay tribute to an officer killed in the line of duty.
Mayweather visited the Bronx’s 46 Precinct Saturday where he posed with a picture of Officer Miosotis Familia, the NY Daily News reported. Familia, 48, was fatally shot by ex-convict Alexander Bonds on July 5 while she was sitting in her command post vehicle, the Associated Press reported. Bonds was killed by police when they returned fire.
The photo showing Mayweather throwing a peace sign with Familia’s portrait was tweeted by a former FDNY paramedic.
“Alotta respect for @FloydMayweather for visiting the @NYPD46Pct to pay his respects to PO Miosotis Familia,” the tweet read.

Police Commissioner James O’Neill said Familia was “assassinated in an unprovoked attack on cops.” Nearly 25,000 officers from 85 police agencies showed up Wednesday to pay their respects to Familia, the NY Daily News reported.
