VANCOUVER — Police are seeking a suspect who threw a brick at an officer in a video released Monday.

The post-Stanley Cup melee last year caused millions of dollars in damage when the Canucks lost to the Bruins, and Vancouver police hope to add to the 250 total charges recommended to date by identifying the man responsible for hurling a brick at Const. Mike Laurin, CTVBC reported. In the video, the projectile strikes Laurin’s forehead, emitting powder on impact.

“I know there’s somebody out there who can tell us who did this. They may have been standing next to the person that threw it, they may know the person that threw it,” Insp. Les Yeo of the Integrated Riot Investigation Team said, adding that the impact would be “the same as getting hit in the head with a puck at 75 miles-per-hour.”

Laurin was out of work for three months and received 14 stitches, according to reports. Police said posting images of rioters to their website has helped “tentatively identify” suspects.
