Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Canada (CP) -- Police raided one of the last Hells Angels bunkers in Quebec on Wednesday and arrested 34 people in various communities.

More than 250 officers from the RCMP, the Quebec provincial police and Trois-Rivieres municipal police took part in the raids, seizing drugs and about $28,000 in cash.

``We’re talking about a major coup against the bikers in central Quebec,” said RCMP Cpl. Patrice Gelinas.

Police used an armoured vehicle to storm the Hells bunker in Trois-Rivieres, midway between Montreal and Quebec City.

``One person was inside but this person, to my knowledge, was not arrested because we did not have any evidence against that person,” Gelinas said.

Some of the 34 who were arrested were to be arraigned later Wednesday on charges of drug trafficking, gangsterism and conspiracy to traffic drugs.

Police were seeking seven other people. Their investigation began about 20 months ago.
