Sean Thomas Quinn remained on the loose Wednesday, more than a week after escaping arrest by slipping out of handcuffs and stealing a police car.

Trooper Bill Satkowski, of the state police at Dunmore, said police continue to investigate tips regarding Quinns whereabouts.

Satkowski said he cant discuss the tips police have received and wouldnt say if authorities think Quinn, 35, of Pittston is still in the area.

About 100 officers launched a massive search for Quinn in Wilkes-Barre and Ashley last Thursday, but couldnt find him despite several leads. The search included mounted police, a state police helicopter and many officers in uniform and undercover on foot.

Quinn is white, 6 feet tall with a shaved head and goatee. He has a red, blue and black tattoo on his left arm, police say.

Police had Quinn in custody briefly on the morning of Nov. 8 in connection with a burglary at Nikkis/Gemmas Pizza on Lonesome Road in Old Forge. He was placed in a police cruiser, but because of a missing pinky finger on his right hand, he was able to get free of the handcuffs, police said.

Quinn fled in the cruiser onto Main Street with Old Forge police in pursuit. The pursuing police car crashed into a house, injuring officer Kerry McHugh and another suspect apprehended in the burglary.

Police said Quinn continued and crashed the police car on Ann Street in Duryea.

Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $2,000 to the person who provides information needed to solve the crime.

Anyone with tips about Quinn should call Crime Stoppers at (800) 4PA-TIPS and anyone who sees Quinn should call 911, police say.
