Investigators have tracked a suspect in the March 31 killing of an off-duty New York City narcotics detective to Miami, and said yesterday that he might be headed to the Dominican Republic.
The police released a videotape yesterday that showed the suspect, Luis Alberto Gomez Gonzalez, meeting a woman at the Greyhound Bus Terminal near Miami International Airport last Tuesday.
The police say that two days earlier in the Bronx, Mr. Gonzalez stabbed Detective Jamie Betancourt.
In the videotape, the woman was seen hugging Mr. Gonzalez, 29, of Jersey City, and waiting with him in the terminal for about 15 minutes before they left together in a taxi, the police said.
Investigators said they believed the woman had connections to people in New Jersey. Deputy Chief Joseph J. Reznick, the commander of detectives in the Bronx, said the police had released the videotape with the hope that someone would come forward to help them identify her.
Reward money totaling $17,000 has been posted for information leading to the arrest and conviction of Mr. Gonzalez.
