BRUNSWICK, Ga. — Bob the police dog helped nab an alleged armed robber, who stands accused of entering a man’s home before dawn Monday morning and threatening him with a hand gun, according to a police report.
Dequan Marquis Jackson, 19, remained Monday afternoon in the Glynn County Detention Center, charged with home invasion, armed robbery, aggravated assault, and possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
Police said a Brunswick man was awakened shortly after 4 a.m. to a find a man inside his home in the 400 block of Fifth Avenue. The intruder pointed a gun at the man before running off with the his cellphone, police said.
Upon arrival at 4:18 a.m., police saw a man fitting the suspect’s description running from the area. With his partner, officer Cliff Partidge, Bob the K9 dog was able to track the suspect several blocks away to the 300 block of Wolfe Street.
Police later caught Jackson in the front yard of a home in the area.
