This week’s photo comes from Holmdel Township (NJ) Police Officer Joseph Van Pelt. It features his K-9 partner Diogi during the brutal Northeast winter of 2010-2011.
“The only thing he likes better than the snow is hunting criminals and finding drugs. Diogi is a 5-year-old patrol and narcotics detection trained German Shepherd from Slovokia. He was named in honor of Polk County, Florida Sheriff’s K-9 Deputy Vernon (Matt) Williams and his K-9 partner DiOGi. They were murdered in the line of duty on September 29, 2006.”
