BRUSH, Colo.- The wife of a Morgan County sheriff’s deputy was wounded in what appeared to be an accidental shooting with the deputy’s gun, but her injuries are not considered life-threatening, police said Monday.
The woman was shot in the stomach at her home on Friday and was taken to a Greeley hospital, Brush Police Chief Mark Thomas said. Neither her name nor the deputy’s name was released.
Thomas said the shooting was still under investigation.
A spokesman for the Morgan County sheriff did not immediately return a call.
