KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — Country music artist Trace Adkins and The Back Porch On The Creek are donating $10,000 to the family of slain Maryville police officer Kenny Moats.

Adkins is scheduled to perform Friday night on the venue’s new stage at the Interstate 40-Lovell Road exit, behind Knoxville Harley Davidson.

A dollar from each ticket sold for Adkins’ concert was already earmarked for the local FOP, but Adkins and the Back Porch announced the donation to Moats’ wife and three children Monday on Facebook.

Concert promoters also have announced that all members of law enforcement can present their badges at the gate for free admission. General admission tickets have been reduced from $35 to $25 and are available at Knoxville Harley Davidson.

Moats, 32, was fatally shot Thursday while answering a domestic violence call in Maryville. The man accused in the slaying, Brian Keith Stalans, 44, is awaiting a Sept. 15 preliminary hearing on a criminal homicide charge as well as related aggravated assault charges. His bond is $1.5 million.
