SEATTLE — A Seattle police officer suffered a minor leg injury during what police called a ‘use of force incident’ Monday when responding to a protest which blocked several main roads in Seattle.
According to the SPD Blotter, Seattle Police Officer Patrick Michaud suffered a sprain during the confrontation.
Protesters chanting “black lives matter” tied themselves together with PVC pipe and laid down on the highway. Organizers said they were engaging in “civil disobedience” to protest police violence.
Officers gave the protestors warnings that they were going to face arrest, then began arresting them. Police say 19 protestors were taken into custody by the time the march ended.
