GREENBELT, Md. — Police in Maryland say an officer fatally shot a man who fired at police from the balcony of a third-floor apartment.
Greenbelt Police said in a news release that officers were called about 10:30 p.m. Monday for a report of a person firing a gun in the area.
Police say officers found a man firing from a third-floor balcony and he fired at them. Police say the man was shot by an officer.
Police say the Prince George’s County tactical unit got into the home and took the 28-year-old Greenbelt man into custody. The man was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Police say no one else was injured.
The races of the officer and the man killed were not immediately known.
