MARIETTA, Ga. — A woman accused of sending bizarre packages to two New York lawmakers was fatally shot by a cop at her Georgia home, officials said yesterday.

Police said Jameela Barnette, 53, attacked an officer who was responding to a call at her apartment. She opened the door wielding a knife and a handgun, and he shot her following a brief struggle, police said.

Last month, Barnette, a grandmother, was arrested and indicted for sending the parcels to Long Island Rep. Peter King and Putnam County state Sen. Greg Ball, both Republicans.

King, who chairs the House Homeland Security Committee, got a pig’s foot and a rambling anti-Semitic note about his hearings on the “radicalization” of American Muslims.

Ball, who heads the state’s Homeland Security and Military Affairs Committee, got a vial of perfume, a hate-filled letter and a Curious George monkey doll wearing two Stars of David and a note labeled “Final Destination . . . Auschwitz.’'

Barnette said she was a Muslim and was upset about the hearings.

A federal judge in Atlanta freed her without bail.

Cops said the Georgia shooting took place shortly after 11 a.m. on Christmas Day in an apartment complex just outside Marietta.

“Moments after knocking on the door, [Barnette] opened it and began assaulting the officer with the weapons,” local police said in a press release.

“Despite receiving injuries to his arm, the officer was able to use his service weapon to stop the assault.”
