OKLAHOMA CITY — Police released body cam footage Tuesday of the Feb. 27 shooting of a fleeing armed suspect.
Officers received an anonymous tip of illegal activity occurring outside a home. Police said when they arrived William Hoover, 35, fled on foot with a gun, KOKH reported.
Three officers pursued Hoover. Police told KFOR that at one point, Hoover turned toward an officer with the gun in hand.
Hoover was told to drop the gun and was shot when he did not comply. He was treated at a local hospital for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound and released, KFOR reported.
He was charged with complaints of assault with a deadly weapon and possession of a firearm after a former felony conviction.
No officers were injured during the incident.
