TRUCKEE, Calif. — The California Highway Patrol shared a photo as an example of what not to do in winter weather.
To combat slick roads, a driver used zip-ties to try to create traction, according to the department’s Facebook post.
Police warned that the zip-ties are not sufficient to protect yourself during bad weather.
“[We] can officially say we have never seen this before. Seriously don’t be this guy! Zip ties,” the department wrote. “These will not suffice as traction control devices.”
Also, the zip ties are not legally allowed in California, according to NBC Bay Area.
