SEASIDE PARK, N.J. — The Police Department has put a wealth of information at officers’ fingertips — literally.
Four mountable Xplore Technologies computers, loaded with Infocop software, were installed in police cruisers earlier this month. After being trained in their use, officers not only have more resources but a tool that could help keep them alive.
“The system was designed by cops for cops,” Police Chief William Beining said. “It’s user-friendly, it’s upgradeable, it’s airbag-compatible and it makes our officers more efficient.”
