Whenever you have your gun drawn, stay intensely alert to the fact that the things you do with your non-gun hand (like grabbing someone, punching, opening a car door, operating a flashlight, discharging a chemical aerosol canister, etc.) can result in a sympathetic reaction in your gun hand. That means that if you’re squeezing your off-hand fingers you may unwittingly squeeze your trigger finger simultaneously said trainer Gary Klugiewicz.
“If you remain aware of this possibility, you can dramatically decrease the chances of an unintentional discharge,” he said. “If, however, you ignore the phenomenon, it could be dangerous.”
