LOS ANGELES — The lead singer of rock band Puddle of Mudd was arrested after a standoff with police outside his home, TMZ reported.

Officers responded to singer Wes Scantlin’s home March 9 after reports of a car burglary. Scantlin, 43, ran into his residence and refused to come out.

Over thirty officers stood outside for two hours attempting to get Scantlin to come outside, New York Daily News reported. Eventually they broke down the back door and hauled the rock star out.

It was later discovered the burglary call was not accurate. The rocker and his friends had only been attempting to jump start a car.

The singer was released on a $50,000 bond. The report comes days after a March 23 incident where Scantlin had an onstage meltdown in England and told fans he was high on crack.

Scantlin has a lengthy criminal record, including a July 2015 DUI charge, a Jan. 2015 trespassing charge for sitting on a baggage carousel at a Denver airport and a Sept. 2012 arrest after drinking and causing an in-flight disturbance that prompted an emergency landing. He was also arrested in May 2013 for domestic abuse and pleaded guilty to cocaine possession a year prior.
