Armed with roughly 225 arrest warrants, Seattle police yesterday attempted to track down fugitives wanted for domestic-violence-related offenses as part of a daylong, nationwide effort to raise awareness about domestic violence.
Members of the Seattle SWAT team, the domestic-violence unit, the anti-crime team, the community-policing team and a number of patrol officers took part in the 24-hour event.
Seattle police Detective Marty Bisch, who coordinated the local efforts, said Seattle police arrest about 50 people on domestic-violence warrants during an average month. Yesterday, they aimed to arrest about 25 people in one day, he said.
