Dallas Morning News

SHERMAN, TEXAS -- A Frisco policewoman was wounded Tuesday by gunfire from an apartment complex near the federal courthouse in Sherman.

Tactical officers responded in an effort to get the gunman to surrender.

Frisco police said the shooting was related to a case involving the death of Tamara Jobes, 18, who was found stabbed on railroad tracks in Frisco early Sunday.

Police had been looking for Charles Anthony Owen, 21, in connection with the case. Detectives received information that Owen was living at a complex in Sherman.

Shots rang out from the third story of the complex as officers approached.

The officer was taken to Wilson Jones Medical Center in Sherman where she is listed in stable condition.
