CHICAGO - Chicago Police Department Officer Paul Nauden, 46, died this morning after complaining of chest pains while on patrol.
Nauden, a 21-year veteran narcotics officer, was immediately taken to University of Chicago Medical center, where he was pronounced dead at 6:15 a.m. The cause of death is pending an autopsy, which will be performed this Saturday.
According to the Chicago Tribune, dozens of officers from various districts gathered outside the hospidal following his death and escorted his ambulance to the medical examiner’s office.
