MILLCREEK, Utah — A routine traffic stop led to a significant drug bust for the Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Office.
About 1:30 a.m. Thursday, a deputy pulled over a vehicle near 200 West and 3900 South. The driver’s behavior raised red flags for the deputy, who called for a backup officer with a drug-sniffing police K9, said Salt Lake County Sheriff’s Lt. Paul Jaroscak.
The dog found two ounces of meth inside the vehicle, he said.
Further investigation led detectives to a motel room in Draper, where more methamphetamine — nearly $5,000 cash and other drug paraphernalia — were discovered.
A 45-year-old woman and a 43-year-old man were arrested and booked into the Salt Lake County Jail for investigation of drug possession.
