Simon Cowell was brought to tears by the brave story of a police officer and his K-9, Finn, on “Britain’s Got Talent” recently.
In a video released on the show’s YouTube page, Officer Dave and Finn correctly guessed words the judges wrote on paper. Officer Dave also shared a video presentation of Finn’s journey that moved everyone to tears.
Officer Dave and Finn have been partners for seven years. During an encounter with an offender, the suspect tried to stab Officer Dave with a 10-inch knife, but Finn jumped in the way and saved Dave’s life.
Finn was critically wounded, but with the help of vets and therapy, Finn survived the attack.
“Seeing my best friend on the brink of death broke my heart,” Officer Dave can be heard saying during the video presentation.
Cowell was invited to the stage after the presentation and was asked to open a small notepad full of random words on each page that best described Finn. After landing on a word and hiding it from the duo, Dave reveals the same word branded on Finn’s collar.
“That’s pretty incredible,” Cowell said. “That’s never happened on any show.”
