Duty Death: Charles Allen VanMeter

MANVEL, Texas — A deputy was killed when a Brazoria County Sheriff’s Office squad car collided with a pickup truck Sunday night.
Deputy Charles VanMeter, 27, was a passenger in the patrol car. The accident occurred when the pickup truck failed to yield to the oncoming patrol car, according to Fox 26 News.
Three other people sustained injuries from the crash, including the deputy driving the vehicle.
