I would like to add a little to the tip about dealing with tinted windows on traffic stops. [See related tip]
I know an officer who changed out the lens of his spotlight to red. This helps you see into the vehicle. You can not make out details of faces but you can see how many people are inside and spot if they are holding a weapon. I have seen this for myself and it works.
The officer said the only downfall is that you loose the ability to use your spotlight to shine far or brighten up the night. His solution to that was to make a quick attachment that allows him to quickly snap the red lens over his regular light prior to stopping.
Keep up the great work Police1 and “stay safe” to all my fellow officers.
