I teach the same method addressed by Sgt. Greg Judd, WA State DOC, (Read the tip) with the addition of a rotation to the outside. Instead of just stepping away from the subject, try spinning quickly to the outside. Continue this momentum in an arching pattern and you will end up behind your subject. Still using Sgt. Judd’s advice; obtain an available weapon system with your support hand.
