LOS ANGELES — Pop-star Rihanna has given $25,000 to an LAPD fund for cadets and fallen officers after an incident with L.A. Police Commission President Steve Soboroff last week.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Rihanna and Soboroff happened to be seated next to each other at the L.A. Clippers/Oklahoma City Thunder basketball game Friday when the pair posed for a ‘selfie’ showing off their matching LAPD wristbands.

During the photo, Rihanna accidentally dropped Soboroff’s phone, breaking it.

The photo, posted to Twitter, immediately went viral. Rihanna later tweeted an apology to Soboroff.

Soboroff took the photo in an effort to boost morale after a string of LAPD deaths over the last two months, according to the report.

Rihanna signed the phone and Soboroff put it up for auction on Ebay. The current bid for the phone is $14,000 as of this report.

Soboroff plans to donate the auction money to the same cadet program Rihanna is donating to.
