ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. Three Pinellas County deputies are being credited with a rescue of a young suicidal man who was on a railing of the Bay Pines Bridge in St. Petersburg.

Sergeant Jeff Esterline attempted to talk the man off of the railing, but deputies say it quickly became evident that he was intending to jump. Corporal James Brueckne joined Sgt. Esterline in talking to the man and engaging him and keeping his attention.

As the two continued to converse with the man, Deputy Troy Savetz approached from a blind spot and was able to grab him off the railing.
