Ron Lyons served many years as a Dallas, Texas, area police officer. During his career, Ron specialized in drug interdiction and DWI enforcement and served in many roles, including K-9 handler, field training officer and drug interdiction specialist. In 1996, Ron set the federal record for the largest single seizure of cocaine in the eastern district. Having graduated Valedictorian of his police academy, Ron continued this trend by earning numerous commendations and awards throughout his career. Currently, he is a writer and the owner of Lyons Tactical & Survival Supply and host of the Lyons Tactical Radio Show on iTunes and Amazon Alexa. When Ron isn’t working, he enjoys spending as much time as possible with his family, racing cars and writing music.

Lexi Wessling is a freelance writer completing criminal justice studies. She has worked as a writer and copy editor for more than seven years.

Catherine Johnson is a former detective and subject matter expert with experience in developing and implementing training on violence against women for law enforcement, military, and other multi-disciplinary partners both locally and internationally. Sergeant Matt Cobb has served with the Topeka Police Department for 15 years. He currently administers the Topeka Police Academy. Sergeant Cobb is a Marine Corps and Operation Iraqi Freedom veteran. He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from Baker University, maintains numerous law enforcement instructor certifications and owns three businesses.

Mark Chamberlain served as the first chief deputy of corrections for the Garland County Sheriff’s Office in Hot Springs, Arkansas, from 2014 to 2016. Prior to his selection, Mark worked for the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office in West Palm Beach, Florida, for over 26 years, starting off as a corrections deputy and retiring as a captain/division commander. Mark holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Northwood University and a master’s degree in Public Administration from Barry University. He is a graduate of Class #10 of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement’s Senior Leadership Program and holds instructor certifications in Florida and Arkansas. Mark joined the Lexipol team as a training coordinator in August 2016. He currently serves as director of corrections content for Lexipol.

David Belmonte is a content developer for Lexipol. David retired as chief of police of the Lake Bluff (Illinois) Police Department, with 31 years of law enforcement experience. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Columbia College of Missouri, a master’s degree from Webster University and is a graduate of the 237th session of the FBI National Academy.

Kerry Gallegos serves as a content developer at Lexipol. He is a retired chief investigator of the Utah Attorney General’s Office and has over 20 years of law enforcement experience. He is a Certified Public Manager and has a master’s degree in accounting, a bachelor’s degree in business management, and is a graduate of the International Association of Chiefs of Police Leadership in Police Organizations (West Point Leadership) program.

Bryan Wilson is the Senior Project Manager, Professional Services, for Lexipol, where he oversees a team of representatives who help law enforcement, corrections, probation and fire agencies implement Lexipol policies. He served for nearly 30 years with the County of Ventura (California) Probation Agency, where he developed and wrote the agency’s Exposure Control Plan, the Respiratory Protection Plan and the Heat Illness Prevention Plan, as well as updated the Illness and Injury Prevention Plan. Bryan was also responsible for the annual management review of both plans. He held multiple assignments during his tenure, including Professional Standards Unit, staff training, work furlough/work release, juvenile facilities, juvenile placement, adult and juvenile investigations, adult field supervision and Public Information Officer. Bryan holds a master’s degree from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles and a bachelor’s degree from St. John’s College in Camarillo, CA; he also studied at the University of California at Los Angeles.

Lynn Cottier, BA, JD, currently serves as a training developer for Lexipol. Lynn began her law enforcement career as a community service officer before accepting an appointment as a sworn police officer. Following her time as a police officer, Lynn was a prosecutor in California for nearly two decades specializing in serious sex offender cases. Lynn currently contracts as a hearing officer for county ordinances related to marijuana cultivation, as well as for a psychiatric health facility.

Aliese Alter is a senior program manager for the Washington/Baltimore High Intensity Drug Trafficking Areas (W/B HIDTA), overseeing both the Overdose Detection Mapping Application Program (ODMAP) and Case Explorer. In her role, she is responsible for the overall management of ODMAP and Case Explorer, including outreach, program development, implementation and national partnerships. Aliese is responsible for interfacing with thousands of partners representing government, law enforcement, and public health nationally to support data-driven efforts to reduce overdoses, as well as facilitate information sharing.

She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, Marketing and Related Support Services from Longwood University; and is currently enrolled in a Master of Science program in EMS Systems Management from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

Prior to joining the W/B HIDTA, Aliese served as a detective in Richmond, Va. During her career, she held a variety of assignments to include: patrol, recruitment and special victims unit.
