Officers Involved in Stand-Off Received Special Coin From Bratton
LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton on Thursday honored Rampart Division officers for their quick action during Tuesday’s hostage stand-off at the Mexican Consulate.
Bratton told the officers that their expert response brought a safe and successful end to the situation.
Tuesday morning, a man armed with a knife and starter pistol took a pregnant worker hostage at the Mexican Consulate.
An LAPD officer shot and wounded the suspect and the woman was rescued.
The officers involved in the stand-off received a special coin from Bratton.
The chief said it was a symbol of a job well done.
