SAN ANTONIO, Texas — A Texas sheriff has partnered with community organizations to launch a program to help alert law enforcement that the person they’re dealing with may have a physical or mental disability.

Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar has partnered with various organizations to launch The Bexar County Sheriff’s Safety Sticker Program. The program was developed alongside community leaders and organizations who specialize in serving people with special needs. The stickers are for specific groups who have diagnosed medical conditions and for the special needs community.

Bexar County is encouraging the community to place these stickers at their residence or on vehicles to alert law enforcement and first responders that a person in a vehicle or home may have a special condition.
