PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. — As deputies were shopping with local kids during a community policing event on Dec. 5, a man tried to walk out of the store with a 58-inch TV.
According to WSET, James Walsh was caught on surveillance footage with the television in his cart. When he tried to exit the store without paying for it, a store “asset protection officer” tried to stop him.
Police said he fled back inside the store and left through a different exit. But St. Lucie County Sheriff’s deputies were still shopping inside the store and arrested him.
Police said Walsh admitted to stealing a TV at the same store the day before.
