HAWTHORNE, Fla. – A man who suspected his dealer had sold him bad drugs sought help from a surprising source: the cops.
According to CNN, Douglas Kelly, 49, came up with the brilliant plan on Tuesday – a week after he purchased meth that gave him a “bad reaction.”
Kelly wanted police at the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office to test the drugs to see if it was truly meth. Kelly believed the dealer had misled him and he wanted to press charges.
After a phone call with police, Kelly drove to the department and handed over a bag of crystallized substance, which came back positive for meth.
Kelly wasn’t fooled after all, but getting the proof that his dealer had sold him the right drugs came at a high cost: police charged him with possession and booked him into the local jail.
“If you believe you were sold bad drugs, we are offering a free service to test them for you,” the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office wrote on Facebook. “Remember, our detectives are always ready to assist anyone who believes they were misled in their illegal drug purchase.”
