Mo. suspect arrested after commandeering Amish buggy

The Associated Press

JAMESPORT, MO. — The highway patrol says a robbery suspect is charged with forcing an Amish man at gunpoint to use a horse and buggy to take him to a trailer home in northern Missouri.

Troopers say 26-year-old Draper Richardson was found Tuesday, hiding in a shed near the home in Jamesport. Richardson is jailed on $1 million bond stemming from a Chillicothe gas station robbery Saturday after which shots were fired at civilians and troopers.

One suspect was arrested after the chase.

Tuesday afternoon troopers went to the trailer after getting a report of a stolen Amish buggy. Police evacuated nearby homes, blocked off streets and called for a school lockdown as they surrounded the trailer.

After about an hour, Richardson was found and taken into custody.
